Shimano Safety Notice

In our workshop we have seen a couple of failed Shimano Ultegra cranks, so finally Shimano has initiated a voluntary inspection and recall of the potentially dangerous cranksets. In short: if you have a pre-July 2019 bonded 11-speed Hollowtech II cranksets it’s worth checking if it’s due for a free replacement.

The problem with the cranks is that the outer cover can potentially separate from the main arm body. Shimano will replace any cranksets that fail the inspection process free of charge.

You can do the check yourself – the detailed instructions can be found here: bike.shimano.com

… or simply drop in to see us in the workshop and we will be able to help.
